Journey Share Mega Prize Draw Winner

The lucky winner of the Satellite navigation system is Michelle Wiper of Britannia Building Society in Leek. Michelle is pictured receiving her prize from Sustainable Travel Officer James Chadwick. Also present are Michelle's car share partner Susi and Britannia's Environment Project Manager Mark Kelsall.

Michelle and Susi have matched up through Share-A-Lift after Britannia rolled out the scheme to staff earlier this month. Michelle says, "Car sharing has been a real eye opener for me. I've found that it's convenient and I'm saving money. Plus we can park in the reserved spaces at work."

Britannia now have over 300 members looking for car share partners. Mark Kelsall states, "The car sharing scheme is just one of a number of initiatives we are rolling out at Britannia to reduce the amount of cars coming to the site.

We have a bus service running and will be looking to get more of our staff walking and cycling during the spring and summer months. It's all part of our Mutual responsibility programme to reduce the impact our organisation has on the environment."

First Prize Draw Winner

Congratulations to Road Safety Co-ordinator Sarah Huggins who has won the first of our regular prize draws.

Sarah has won a wonderful Relaxation day at Hoar Cross Hall - the premier health spa in a stately home in the UK - set in the meadows between Lichfield and Burton.

The luxuriant lounging incentive was kindly donated by Hoar Cross Hall itself - a company which has joined Staffordshire's drive to get business on board with the car share principle.

Hoar Cross Hall's Steve Joynes said the spa was committed to the car sharing idea.

"A large number of staff enjoy car sharing. This saves our staff parking spaces and reduces the number of vehicles on our lovely country lanes, making trips to work and back a sociable, chatty event," he said.
